On Friday, Jan. 26, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Lawrence Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting smoke coming from 175 Johnson Ave in Eggerts Crossing Village.
Police found a visible fire on the second floor of the home. The residents were not home.
The fire was brought under control at about 2 p.m.
There were no injuries, however the home sustained significant damage, police said.
The American Red Cross responded to the scene to aid the displaced family, they said.
Members of the Lawrence Township Fire Department were assisted by fire departments from Hamilton Township, Trenton, and Ewing Township.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Lawrence Township Police Department, Lawrence Township Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
